Reading offers children a wider range of vocabulary and grammar, it essentially supports and feeds the brain with the correct language structures. That is why children who read extensively are stronger in language arts skills.

Conversely, building a stronger foundation in language arts helps children better comprehend what they read.

The goal of the IXL Language Arts practice is to help students review or learn the skills they need for better reading comprehension at their grade level.

For every workshop session, an appropriate language arts skill is chosen for the lesson.

Total Time: 40-50min

• ~20min: Students are taught a specific language arts skill.

• ~10min: Teacher demonstrates the IXL practice for that skill.

• ~10-20min: Students log into their own IXL account and perform the IXL practice on their own.

At the end of every session, students are expected to submit a screenshot of the IXL practice result.
